The 1 year Work USA Work Programme agreed between the governments of Ireland and the United States is open to full time students and recent graduates (within 12 months)!
Get a true insight into the American way of life first hand, while gaining real experience from an American Employer! The programme gives full-time students, undergraduates, post-graduates and recent graduates an opportunity to work in a job in the USA for 1 year and allows you the flexibility to search for a job after you arrive in the US. And remember you can work in any of the 50 US States you wish!
This programme is operated jointly by USIT and Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE). CIEE is a membership organisation of universities, colleges and cultural organisations with international offices, affiliations and representation throughout the world.

Know your facts
1) Check the date on your grad cert
You need to enter the US within 12 months of the date on your cert regardless of when your actual graduation ceremony took place. 90% of the time your graduation ceremony date and the date on your Graduation Cert / Scroll won’t match. If your graduation was held in October / November, it is likely the date on your cert/scroll will say June, ie when you finished your exams.
2) Limited Numbers
There is a limit on the number of work papers being issued this year so if you plan on travelling in October / November you should secure your work papers now. We will order your work papers for only €499, a further €400 deposit will be required 2 months later with your balance due 8 weeks prior to departure.
FAQ's
Q : Can I book now and travel anytime ?
A: You can book now and travel anytime before your 12 month cut off point (as per your Grad Cert date). Remember you must be IN the US within 12 Months from the date on your Grad Cert.
Q: Can I travel anywhere in the US ?
A: Yes, if you wish you can travel to New York for 3 months, then head off to Alaksa and if that gets too cold , you can pop down to Hawaii!!!!
Q: Will I have to pay any extra costs on the ground ?
A: No, any site visit to a company (if required) is included in our programme fee unlike other sponsors.
Q: Can I change employers?
A: Yes, move around if you wish, there is no additional cost from our sponsor.
Q: How much is the deposit ?
A: The deposit is €499, a further €400 deposit is due 2 months later with the balance due 8 weeks before departure.
Q:Can USIT only accept certain degrees ?
A: We accept all degrees (inc. Social Science, Arts & Culture etc.)
Q: Can I apply now even though I haven’t graduated yet ?
A: Yes, you can apply now and pay your deposits , the balance won’t be due until 8 weeks prior to departure.
